Beware of the Large Hadron Collider!

A few minutes before I posted this article a very daring experiment started in Geneva. One that reflects the spirit certain men displayed 4000 years ago when they wanted to reach the top of the heavens in Babel. This modern “Tower” is the Large Hadron Collider.

6 After that Jehovah said: “Look! They are one people and there is one language for them all, and this is what they start to do. Why, now there is nothing that they may have in mind to do that will be unattainable for them. (Genesis 11:6.)

Although we can not assure whether this great technological monster will shake the world somehow, what we do know is that we are on the threshold of the start of the "great tribulation". Scripturally, we expect this tribulation to begin in autumn of this year when we will see the fulfilment of the opening of the sixth seal of Revelation chapter 6.

12 And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake occurred; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the entire moon became as blood, 13 and the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as when a fig tree shaken by a high wind casts its unripe figs. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and [every] island were removed from their places. (Revelation 6:12-14).

It is possible that we have seen some of this signs in the last 5 weeks:

• The sun was obscured in northern Russia on August 1, 2008.

• The moon was red with the partial eclipse of August 16, 2008.

• The stars fell from the sky with the rain of people that was visible in the northern hemisphere since the second half of July until the first half of August.

Which visible sign is missing from this list? The "great earthquake". Although the primary significance of this prophecy has to do with a symbolic "earthquake" that shakes the foundations of society (religious, political and commercial), it is likely that these events are accompanied by a physically destructive event never seen before.

On September 10 this great quake could occur with the activation of the Large Hadron Collider.

It's weird, but the goal of this experiment is to investigate the powers of the heavens. In this regard it is possible that the following passage is fulfilled “after” the initial tribulation of 1914…

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. (Matthew 24:29).

Although something important could happen today and/or tomorrow, we stand in anticipation of the real lunar anniversary of the fall of the Twin Towers, which will take place on September 24, the first day of autumn. And September 30, as 1 Etanim (Tishri) 2008 could be the start of the 1,335 days of Daniel 12 leading to Pentecost 2012.

And in the meantime...what about the Russian bear?

The bear is still sending mixed signals. Although it seems to be quite calm now, that does not mean that military forces of both blocs are resting. The "push" of the "king of the south" against the "king of the north", predicted by Daniel, will continue until the final fulfilment. It will continue until we see the following situation…

40 “And in the time of [the] end the king of the south will engage with him in a pushing, and against him the king of the north will storm with chariots and with horsemen and with many ships; and he will certainly enter into the lands and flood over and pass through.. (Daniel 11:40).

We are already in the "time of the end" and it is in this last period that Russia (and China) will act in an unprecedented way against the United States and Britain. However, we do not know when this sudden invasion will occur.

Although in a sense, Russia is currently being contained, in line with the prophecy that says the government "will have to feel discouraged" (Daniel 11:30), that did not prevent the bear from reacting on a diplomatic level. There is a new Cold War, as is clear from the news:

The "king of the south", through Europe, recognises Ukraine as a country on his side.

The "king of the north" establishes diplomatic relations with Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The "king of the south" puts NATO ships with little credible pretexts in the Black Sea.

The "king of the north" sends a ship to the Caribbean to perform nuclear exercises with Venezuela.

May God protect his children in these troubled times!
